Home to the Champions Skins Game this course is designed to be challenging as well as meticulous in its manicured landscaping. Volcanic elevation changes held in place by preserved "papohaku", ancient early Hawaiian built lava walls. Kiawe trees border tight fairways and natural undulations cause headaches to gauge distance to landing zones. The use of true Hawaiian plants and grasses is a testament to the care used to fit this layout into an already perfect backdrop. Wailea Gold is a thinking golfer's joy to play and a hacker's nightmare. Players need to know what club and how to control the ball to put a decent score on the card. Four to six tee boxes per hole offer you the choice to adjust to your specific skill level. Play the Gold Course just once and you will never feel the same about golf.
